The completion of the replacement school on the Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary site creates an opportunity for repurposing of the south portion of the site once the existing school building is demolished. The Vancouver School District would like your feedback on whether the southern portion of the Fleming site land should be declared surplus to educational programming needs of the District. It could then potentially be sold or put under long term lease to generate capital funds. Those funds could be used to enhance funding for new and upgraded schools in the Seismic Mitigation Program or for other capital projects.
Disposition (disposal through long term lease, sale or transfer) of the Fleming site is subject to the approval of the Vancouver School Board and the Ministry of Education.
