Mahogany School is the name of the new Calgary Board of Education elementary school under construction for the community of Mahogany. The Board of Trustees of the Calgary Board of Education approved the name for this school, expected to open in September 2022.
The new elementary school is the first CBE school being built in Mahogany, a community located in southeast Calgary.
The Board of Trustees selected the name after gathering stakeholder input on possible names through the school naming committee and a community survey. The school naming committee is comprised of CBE Trustees, parent and/or community representatives and members of CBE administration.
Mahogany School will serve students in Grades K-4 when it opens.
