LOUIS RIEL SCHOOL DIVISION
Welcoming Michelle Jean-Paul as Divisional Principal

December 6, 2021

On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team, please join me in welcoming Michelle Jean-Paul to the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) as the Divisional Principal of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Services, beginning Jan. 6, 2022. The Board of Trustees confirmed her position at a Special Board Meeting on Nov. 30.

Michelle brings to the position more than a decade of leadership experience in French Immersion schools in Winnipeg, as well as extensive community work primarily focused on issues of equity. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Administration with a proposed doctoral thesis in equity policy. Michelle is also a sessional instructor for the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba and a consultant on matters of equity and anti-racism.

Alongside Darcy Cormack, Assistant Superintendent of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Services, and Bobbie-Jo Leclair, Divisional Vice Principal of Indigenous Education, Intercultural Understanding and Transformation, Michelle will provide support to schools in implementing key strategic priorities to enhance outcomes for students and families.

We look forward to working alongside Michelle in the new year!

Sincerely,
Christian Michalik
