LAKELAND CATHOLIC SCHOOL DIVISION
Mental Health Matters Campaign to continue benefiting students

September 9, 2022

Lakeland Catholic and Imperial are teaming up once again to promote mental wellness in schools across the region.

Students attending Lakeland Catholic School Division will continue to benefit from the Mental Health Matters Campaign after Imperial approved $30,000 in grant funding for the 2022-23 school year.

The campaign was launched in 2021 in response to the mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic through funding provided by Imperial.

In its inaugural year, the campaign promoted mental wellness throughout the division while reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and sharing resources available to families within local communities.

Through the campaign, school-based student leadership groups were created with the goal of promoting mental wellness among staff and students.

"Mental health directly affects a student's ability to learn and be successful," said James Breidenbach, Cold Lake Production Manager at Imperial. "We're proud to partner with Lakeland Catholic School Division to provide the support and resources to ensure all students can reach their full potential."

"Lakeland Catholic is grateful to Imperial for their continued support of our campaign. We know the pandemic adversely impacted our students' mental wellbeing, and our collaborative work continues. Our students are benefiting from the many ways they are empowered to learn about and promote mental wellness in their daily lives," LCSD Superintendent Pamela Guilbault said.
