The Lakehead District School Board is pleased to welcome Jane Lower to its senior administration team. A former teacher, school administrator, and student success leader with the Board, Jane has accepted the position of superintendent of education and looks forward to collaborating with schools and community partners to advance the progress of the strategic plan.
Jane Lower says she is honoured to rejoin the Lakehead District School Board and the talented team of educators and staff who are dedicated to ensuring the success and well-being of students.
"The Lakehead District School Board has many strengths and inspires innovation, creativity, and achievement. I look forward to working with students, families, and the community, and increasing opportunities for positive educational experiences and outcomes for all," said Lower.
Jane Lower is a graduate of the Faculty of Education from the University of Manitoba and holds a Master of Education in Education Leadership. She began her teaching career in Manitoba and returned to Thunder Bay in 2001 to teach at Sir Winston Churchill CVI. She became a school administrator, first at Sir Winston Churchill CVI and later at Westgate CVI, before becoming the student success lead at Lakehead District School Board in 2015. She has spent the last two years working as superintendent of education at Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
Lakehead Public Schools Director of Education Sherri-Lynne Pharand says that Jane Lower's experience as superintendent of education in Northwestern Ontario will be an asset to the Board.

Lakehead District School Board will welcome Jane Lower to her new position around November 14, 2022.
