Marion School is currently undergoing a renovation project that will see improvements to the building envelope and windows as well as accessibility upgrades such as the addition of an elevator, universal washroom, universal toilet room and modifications to all entrances and exits. This project is on track to wrap-up in June 2023.
Alongside these important renovations, the division recently took an important next step toward a major addition project. Prairie Architects Inc. was recently chosen as the prime architectural consultant on the project. The team at Prairie Architects Inc. will work closely with the division and members of the school community to imagine this new learning space.
The approximately 36,000 sq ft addition includes a new gymnasium, 8 regular classrooms, 2 kindergarten classrooms, 2 before-and-after rooms and accompanying ancillary space. The scope of the project also includes a new 74-seat childcare centre, the renovation and sub-division of the existing gymnasium into a multi-purpose room and code-related upgrades to the existing building.
