Mathieu Lang Appointed Dean of the Faculty of Education

The Board of Governors has appointed Mathieu Lang as Dean of the Faculty of Education at the Université de Moncton.

Mathieu Lang is head of the Department of Primary Education and Educational Psychology in the Faculty of Education at the Université de Moncton, where he has been a professor since 2004. He received his PhD in Philosophy from Université Laval in 2010, his M.A. in Philosophy from Université de Poitiers in 2001, and his B.A. in Multidisciplinary Studies from the Edmundston campus of Université de Moncton.

He teaches courses on the foundations of education, learning and teaching, and citizenship education. His research interests include the foundations of education, the development of critical thinking, citizenship education, philosophy with children and adolescents, and the theory-practice relationship in teacher education. He regularly collaborates with the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) as an educational expert. Since 2021, he has been assisting the president and vice-chancellor and the executive leadership team of the Université de Moncton in the development and implementation of the strategy "Setting Course for the Future 2023-2028."

Lang will take office on July 1, 2024 for a regular five-year term.
