Lindsay Sullivan, Interim Assistant Vice-President (AVP), Students.

Nipissing University is pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsay Sullivan as Interim Assistant Vice-President (AVP), Students. Sullivan will serve in the role for the next seven months while current AVP, Students, Sarah Taylor, is on parental leave.

Sullivan joined Nipissing earlier this year as the University's Access and Inclusion Student Experience Coordinator. In this role, she quickly committed to building and maintaining a strong rapport with students, staff, faculty, and external community organizations, helping to foster a supportive campus environment that embraces all students.

Prior to joining the University, Sullivan amassed a wealth of relevant experience having coordinated arts and mental health/substance use initiatives as Art Training Coordinator with Art Fix of Nipissing, as a Social Worker and Case Manager at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, as well as numerous social service initiatives in Toronto.

"In addition to Lindsay's demonstrated leadership in community outreach, commitment to inclusivity and consultation, and experience managing complex issues, she is a creative problem solver and approaches her work with empathy and professionalism," said Dr. Ann-Barbara Graff, Provost and Vice-President, Academic.

Sullivan is an alumna of Nipissing University, having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Work from York University, a Master of Arts in Community Music from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Registered Social Worker.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to work with the diverse and talented student body at Nipissing," said Sullivan. "It's a privilege to be able to play a part in supporting folk's growth and development."

An active member of the community, Sullivan is the Co-Owner/Co-Facilitator of the VOX Choir, is the recipient of the YMCA Adult Peace Medal, and has volunteered her time and expertise on numerous boards and committees.

Sullivan began her new role this week.
