Wilfrid Laurier University undergraduate students have voted to continue the universal transit pass (U-Pass) program.
The program will continue at the university until at least 2030, after a successful referendum.
Of the students who voted, 76 per cent supported the continuation of the program.
"These results are a clear indication that Laurier students value the U-Pass program," said Neil Malcolm, Acting Director of Transit Services.
"The U-Pass gives post-secondary students across the Region an affordable, easy-to-use, sustainable and unlimited transportation option. GRT is thrilled with the student decision to maintain the program at Laurier."
GRT is excited to keep working with Wilfrid Laurier University and the Students' Union to make transit the easy choice for students throughout the multi-year commitment.
