"Student learning is at the heart of everything we do," says Dr. Sandra Davidson, PhD, provost and vice-president (academic).
"The Teaching Awards recognize the dedication of UCalgary educators who create learning environments that challenge and encourage students to succeed. This year's recipients should all be proud of the care and energy they put into creating the best UCalgary student experience."
This year, 19 recipients will be awarded from nine faculties and units across campus. The 15 Teaching Award categories showcase the breadth of expertise of this year's recipients: from Indigenous Ways of Knowing and educational leadership to team teaching and graduate teaching assistants. Each of these exceptional educators bring passion and care to teaching practices both inside the classroom and out.
"Out of all the UCalgary awards offered, the Teaching Awards offer some of the most meaningful recognition for educators who go above and beyond to engage with learners," says President Ed McCauley, PhD, FRSC.
"As we celebrate the recipients of the Teaching Awards on the 10th anniversary of this event, it's a reminder of the high calibre of educators at UCalgary. My congratulations to all the 2024 Teaching Awards recipients who have fostered the dynamic learning environment on campus."
Recipients will have their awards presented at the annual Celebration of Teaching on Feb. 25, 2025, an event that brings together the teaching and learning community to recognize the many contributions to excellence across our campuses.
