The University of New Brunswick (UNB) has partnered with Supply Chain Canada to introduce the first-ever supply chain accreditation within a Canadian Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

This partnership aims to create more job-ready graduates, attract new talent to the region, and strengthen the relationship between academia and industry.
"This is a very exciting day for Supply Chain Canada, our new partnership with UNB will allow us to work more closely together, advocating for the supply chain industry, while developing supply chain professionals who are ready for the future," said Dylan Bartlett, President and CEO, Supply Chain Canada.
Graduates of UNB's MBA program in Saint John, who achieve at least a B in the supply chain management stream, will gain advanced standing in Supply Chain Canada's Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP ) Designation program. They will also be exempt from all modules and workshops, making it faster and more cost-effective to earn the SCMP designation - Canada's top supply chain management credential.
"UNB is dedicated to offering innovative, interdisciplinary programs that prepare students for the future and expand their professional learning opportunities. The quality of the MBA program and this associated accreditation exemplifies that commitment," said Dr. Petra Hauf, UNB's provost and vice president academic. "It will help graduates transition into the workforce quickly and with greater experience. Additionally, it will support local economic growth by providing businesses and organizations in New Brunswick and beyond with a strong pipeline of skilled professionals."
Recognizing the increasing local demand for supply chain professionals and the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, UNB, with input from industry leaders and professionals, identified a unique opportunity to meet the demand.
The Saint John MBA program's supply chain management stream will allow students to pursue their MBA while fulfilling the pre-education requirements set by Supply Chain Canada for the SCMP designation. This pathway will allow UNB Saint John MBA Supply Chain Management Students to qualify for the knowledge exam.
With this advanced standing, graduates can pursue careers in supply chain fields, including supply chain management, procurement management, logistics management, inventory management and operations management.
The SCM stream is delivered in-person as part of the intensive one-year MBA program at UNB in Saint John.
