On May 12, a dozen Mount Royal faculty members were celebrated for their outstanding academic achievements at the Faculty Excellence Celebration.
The annual event recognizes the recipients of the Faculty Excellence Awards, highlighting excellence in scholarly teaching, service and scholarship. Eight awards were presented across three categories: Teaching and Learning Awards, Research Recognition Awards and the Distinguished Faculty Awards the highest form of faculty recognition at Mount Royal. This year, nearly sixty nominations were submitted, making for a challenging selection process by the adjudication committees.

"Our faculty set Mount Royal apart in providing an exemplary undergraduate education," said Dr. Chad London, provost and vice-president, academic. "These award recipients point to the top-notch teaching and scholarship taking place across Mount Royal University every day."
From developing transformative learning experiences through innovative pedagogies and creative curriculum design to establishing student-centred research programs and advancing indigenization and decolonization, this year's Faculty Excellence Award recipients have made a considerable positive impact at Mount Royal and throughout local communities and beyond.
