BC student Addyson Murphy has been awarded the Tomorrow Grant, a $2,500 scholarship presented by Interchange Recycling. This national scholarship recognizes Canadian students pursuing post-secondary studies in either Environmental Science or the Automotive Trades.
The Tomorrow Grant is part of Interchange Recycling's long-term commitment to environmental stewardship. By investing in students like Addyson, the organization supports the next generation of environmental leaders, innovators, and advocates working to build a cleaner, greener future.
This fall, Addyson begins her Environmental Science degree at SFU's Burnaby campus. Her passion for sustainability was shaped by a high school watershed trip, where she witnessed firsthand how pollution had turned a thriving stream into a lifeless waterway. That moment inspired her to pursue contaminant hydrology the study of how pollutants move through water and to work toward restoring and protecting BC's ecosystems.
"Starting my studies at SFU is an important step toward my goal of specializing in contaminant hydrology," said Addyson. "Thanks to support from Interchange Recycling, I'm one step closer to using science to create real solutions that protect our waterways and communities."
