The University of Regina's Faculty of Education is pleased to announce the launch of a new Online Bachelor of Education After Degree (Elementary) program, beginning in Fall 2026.
This new two-year, full-time program offers a concentrated pathway to teacher certification for Saskatchewan residents who already hold a bachelor's degree and are ready to pursue a teaching career in Saskatchewan.
"What is especially exciting about this program is that it prepares future teachers for certification while allowing them to remain connected to their communities," says Dr. James Nahachewsky, Dean of the Faculty of Education. "Our goal is to ensure that these students have access to the professional skills and research-based knowledge they need to enter the classroom confidently and effectively, wherever their teaching careers take them."
Built on a flexible, community-based education model, the program delivers coursework online, with field experiences completed in classrooms, and offers accelerated and part-time options.
Applications for Fall 2026 are now open, with priority consideration given to those submitted by March 15, 2026. To support the development of teachers in the areas that need them most, preference will be given to applicants who reside in rural or remote areas of Saskatchewan (more than 100 km from Regina or Saskatoon). Other qualified applicants may be considered after the March 15 application deadline.
