UFV names Tracy Ryder Glass as new Provost and Vice-President, Academic

Dr. Tracy Ryder Glass has been selected as Provost and Vice-President, Academic at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). Tracy has served in the role on an acting basis since July 1, 2025, and will begin a five-year term on January 1, 2026.

The Provost and Vice-President, Academic is a pivotal leader at UFV, championing excellence in teaching, learning, research, scholarship, and service, and stewarding integrated planning and operational coordination to ensure our programs, people, supports, policies, and resources align with UFV's values, vision, and priorities.

She brings deep experience in senior academic leadership from both Ontario and British Columbia. She arrived at UFV in 2014 when she was appointed Dean for the Faculty of Professional Studies. In 2021, she was appointed Vice-Provost and is currently serving in her second time as Acting Provost and Vice President, Academic. Prior to arriving at UFV, Tracy was the Coordinator of Law Clerk and Court Programs and then Associate Dean for the Business School at Humber College over a 10-year period.

Tracy holds several post-secondary credentials including:

• PhD, Theory and Policy Studies (2011) from the University of Toronto

• Certificate in Higher Education Teaching (2004) from Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning

• Master of Laws (LLM), Alternative Dispute Resolution (2002) from York University

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (1998) from University of Windsor

• Bachelor of Education (1995) from the University of Windsor

• Bachelor of Arts, Criminology (1993) from the University of Windsor

Her background as an educator, lawyer, scholar, athlete, and mentor is complemented by a record of collaborative, student-centred leadership, and a deep commitment to community engagement and changemaking at UFV.
