Yukon University Board of Governors and President and Vice Chancellor Dr. Lesley Brown have agreed that Dr. Brown will conclude her term as President and Vice-Chancellor, effective immediately
The Board thanks Dr. Brown for her leadership and contributions during a time of significant progress for the university. Under Dr. Brown's leadership, the university advanced key priorities in Reconciliation and solidified its identity as a university grounded and defined in and by the North. She has served the territory with distinction.
To ensure continuity and stability, the Board has appointed Dr. Shelagh Rowles our Provost and Vice -President Academic as Interim President and Vice-Chancellor. Shelagh joined Yukon College in 1991 and is a long-serving member of the university's executive leadership team with deep knowledge of the institution and our community.
Yukon University remains focused on advancing its academic mission, research excellence, and partnership with Yukon First Nations.
