UNIVERSITY OF WINNIPEG
Board of Regents Announces Departure of Dr. Todd Mondor, President and Vice-Chancellor

November 26, 2025

The University of Winnipeg Board of Regents announced on November 25 that Dr. Todd Mondor, President and Vice-Chancellor, is no longer with the University, effective immediately. The Board acknowledges Dr. Mondor's contributions during his tenure and extends its sincere appreciation for his service to the University.

"As we begin a bold new five-year strategic plan, we believe it's necessary for the University to refocus our leadership," says Michelle Pereira, Chair, Board of Regents. "This decision was made with careful consideration and extensive deliberation."

The Board has already initiated a process to appoint interim leadership in the coming weeks. While this process is underway, Dr. Pavlina Radia will provide leadership in an acting capacity.

"Ensuring there is minimal disruption to everyone is important to the Board. We will work together with the interim leadership to ensure that stability and consistency are paramount," says Pereira.

The Board has begun to contemplate the search for its next President and Vice-Chancellor but will engage with the community before filling the vital role.

"Guided by our mission of excellence in post-secondary education, we anticipate a fulsome search that will take some time," says Pereira. "In keeping with our values, we want to engage and gather input from our community: stakeholders, students, faculty, staff, and the public. This is their university, and its next leader must reflect that."

More details will be shared about the search as the process progresses. To view our new strategic plan, click here https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/strategic-plan/.
