April 13, 2026

Goodman School of Business Professors Mark Julien and Danny Cho have been recognized for their exceptional teaching and the genuine care they show their students.

The pair recently received student-voted teaching awards at the annual Goodman Student Success and Faculty Appreciation Celebration held March 30 in the Goodman Student Success Centre.

Cho, who received the graduate teaching award, said he enters the classroom each day with the goal of helping Brock students transform as both scholars and people.

"I just want to make sure our students are ready for the marketplace," he said. "I try to minimize the gap between what they are learning in the classroom and what they experience in industry when they graduate."

Julien, who received the undergraduate teaching award, said he was humbled by the honour and that his dedication for teaching comes from his passion for human resources (HR).

"I believe that HR, when done right, can have a profound impact on an organization and I want students to understand the importance of my profession," Julien said. "I also recognize the significant challenges this generations of students have experienced so I want to create a classroom that fosters support, critical thinking, engagement and problem solving."

At the celebration, Dean Barry Wright acknowledged the success and contributions of student clubs, competition teams and their faculty advisors, whose work greatly enhanced the Goodman student experience.

Wright also noted the impact fundraising efforts from the Business Students' Association (BSA) had on both the Brock and broader Niagara communities. Over the past year, the BSA launched Goodman's first ever class gift initiative, held a fundraiser for the gift during the Fall Term, raised nearly $2,000 for Gillian's Place and donated $3,200 towards Community Care.
