DEVELOPMENT OF CANNABIS CAREER TRAINING PROGRAM
CannTrust Enters into Partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University

June 14, 2018

CannTrust Holdings Inc. ("CannTrust" or the "Company") (TSX: TRST), one of Canada's leading licensed producers of medical cannabis, announced the signing of an agreement with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) to collaborate on the ongoing development of the university's non-academic Cannabis Career Training program.

Offered through KPU's Continuing and Professional Studies division, a suite of non-credit cannabis courses were first offered in 2015. The courses were created to assist with the establishment of a knowledgeable and educated workforce for the quickly expanding medical cannabis industry. CannTrust, in partnership with KPU, will assist in the continued development of the Cannabis Career Training program, with the aim of providing students with the necessary work skills required for the industry's continually evolving demands. Delivered in an online format, the program is easily accessible and is in extremely high demand all across Canada.

The CannTrust-KPU partnership will afford students the opportunity for work placements. CannTrust will also offer employment to a number of qualified candidates. All of this will bring an infusion of new expertise and talent to the Company and help position CannTrust for continued growth and success.

Students enrolled in the Cannabis Career Training program can participate in multiple thirteen-week online course modules. Courses will be available in Plant Production & Facility Management, Marketing, Sales, Drug Development and Financing. The courses are led by experts from across all facets of the industry, including science, horticulture and marketing.

"We are thrilled to partner with Kwantlen Polytechnic University to develop the education tools and courses required for the next generation of experts and specialists for the quickly evolving cannabis industry. CannTrust looks forward to participating in the growth of the training Program and in creating internship, co-operative education and employment opportunities for its students and graduates," said Brad Rogers, President of CannTrust.

"We were the first post-secondary institution in Canada to provide professional training in the cannabis industry," said David Purcell, Director of Emerging Business within the Continuing and Professional Studies division at KPU. "We're proud to continue to further develop that training in partnership with CannTrust and provide a high level of education to those wishing to enter the rapidly expanding and dynamic sector."

CannTrust and KPU will also collaborate to educate the surrounding community on career opportunities within the cannabis industry and on events highlighting their work in growing the Cannabis Career Training program.
