WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY
Laurier's Lazaridis School launches Master of Supply Chain Management program

January 28, 2021

Supply chains have become increasingly complex and interconnected at the national and global level during the COVID-19 pandemic, with consumers demanding goods at a rapidly accelerating pace. It is in this increasingly challenging world of supply chain management that Wilfrid Laurier University's Lazaridis School of Business and Economics has established a new graduate program dedicated to its study. The Master of Supply Chain Management, designed for professionals looking to advance their careers in the industry, will welcome its first cohort of students this September.

Experiential learning will be central to the program. Students will master project management through a fieldwork project and work at resolving a real-world problem at a client firm. The 12-month program also features a large group-based consulting assignment in which students will tackle more substantial supply chain management challenges.

The curriculum will have a strong analytics component to ensure the program is future-focused and its graduates are future-ready. Classes will be held on Fridays and Saturdays to accommodate working professionals.

"The Lazaridis School has long been a recognized centre within Ontario for the study and advancement of supply chain management," said Professor Michael Haughton, the program's inaugural director and CN Fellow in Supply Chain Management. "We've been able to apply Laurier's distinct brand of research and academic excellence through the supply chain management, operations and technology management fields of our MSc and PhD programs.

"We felt that now is the perfect time to augment our offerings with a more professionally focused program that will equip our graduates with the analytical and strategic management tools needed to advance their careers in the supply chain management field."

Foundational investments from corporate partners have made Laurier a centre for thought leadership in supply chain management that is second-to-none in the province. From this strong foundation of research and academic excellence, comes a natural evolution for the Lazaridis School's aim to shape the innovative transportation and logistics leaders of tomorrow.

The Lazaridis Master of Supply Chain Management program will incorporate the latest best practices in business analytics, computer modelling, and process design to keep graduates ahead of the curve as they navigate this dynamic business environment.

The Lazaridis Master of Supply Chain Management program is now accepting applications for Fall 2021.
