The university placed 45th out of 193 universities on the list, which takes into consideration the proportion of international staff, faculty and students, collaborations with overseas co-authors, and international reputatoins scores.

"Every member of our community brings a new perspective and helps to make McMaster a more vibrant and innovative place to learn, live and study."
International students account for 14.5 per cent of McMaster's undergraduates and 24.5 per cent of the university's graduate student population. Overall, international students, staff and faculty represent more than 90 countries.
The University of British Columbia, McGill University and the University of Toronto were also ranked on the list.
McMaster ranks 80th on Times Higher Education's overall World University Rankings, and for two years running has been in the top 20 universities globally for impact.
