Parkland School Division (PSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jade Novakovski as the Division's new Director, Financial Services, effective January 5, 2026.
"Jade brings a strong blend of public-sector financial expertise and strategic leadership " said PSD's Superintendent, Shauna Boyce. "We are pleased to welcome him to PSD and look forward to the contributions he will make in supporting responsible financial stewardship across the Division. His familiarity with K-12 education systems and Alberta Education's financial reporting structure will be a huge asset."
The move comes after the retirement of Associate Superintendent, Scott McFadyen and subsequent hiring of the former, Director Financial Services, Jason Krefting, as his replacement.
Jade Novakovski, Director Financial Services
Jade brings extensive financial leadership experience across K-12 education, post-secondary institutions, and provincial government. He joins PSD from Edmonton Catholic Separate School Division, where he has served since April 2020 as Manager, Financial Operations - Student Services, supporting a broad range of educational programs and services.
In his current role, Jade has worked closely with senior leadership and school administrators to support sound decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strong internal controls. His experience includes overseeing specialized grant funding, improving financial processes, and identifying opportunities to maximize the effective use of resources in support of student learning.
Previously, Jade served as Controller, Business Services and Acting Director, Business Services at Olds College, where he led improvements to financial governance, supported institutional planning, and oversaw audits conducted by the Auditor General of Alberta. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Manager with the Provincial Auditor of Saskatchewan, leading audits of large public-sector organizations.
Jade holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction (Accounting) from the University of Saskatchewan and earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 2013.
