Budget 2026 funds 14 new school projects in Calgary, bringing the total number of school projects underway in the city to 45.
Budget 2026 is investing in what matters and that means building more schools in Alberta's fastest-growing cities. These 14 new school projects build on the 31 previously announced projects that are currently underway in Calgary, as Alberta's government continues to focus on accelerating school construction in communities with the greatest pressures on their classrooms.
Alberta's student population has increased significantly with 80,000 students joining Alberta's schools in just three years. These new Calgary school projects include 11 new schools, one school addition and one replacement school. An expansion of Alberta Classical Academy's Currie Campus, a public charter school, will also support further educational choice for Calgary families.
