Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Dana Pikkert as Principal of St. Martin de Porres School effective August 26, 2026.
Dana brings 23 years of dedicated service to RDCRS and a strong commitment to Catholic education, student success, and creating school communities where relationships and student well-being are prioritized alongside learning. Her leadership experiences at Father Henri Voisin School, St. Francis of Assisi Middle School, and St. Teresa of Avila School have provided her with a broad range of experiences that will serve the St. Martin de Porres community well.

Throughout her career, Dana has served in a variety of roles including Teacher, Inclusive Lead Teacher, Vice Principal, and Principal. She is recognized for her ability to connect with people and lead collaboratively, as well as her ability to build strong, caring school cultures focused on both student achievement and well-being. She is known for leading with compassion, authenticity, and a focus on bringing people together in support of students. At St. Teresa of Avila School, she helped lead work focused on faith, student belonging and regulation, innovation in learning, and strengthening student engagement.
Dana is passionate about creating welcoming learning environments where students are encouraged to discover and develop their God-given gifts. She values strong partnerships with staff, families, parish communities, and community organizations, believing that relationships are at the heart of thriving schools.
Beyond her professional leadership, Dana is deeply committed to the mission of Catholic education. She is an active member of St. Mary's Parish, where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister.
Dana looks forward to joining the St. Martin de Porres community and supporting its continued growth as a welcoming, Christ-centered school with a strong Fine Arts focus.
