May 8, 2024

Jeboah M. Godron is the new Director of Communications at the University of the Fraser Valley.

Originally from Victoria, Godron joins UFV from Toronto, where she worked as the Communications Manager for the Métis Nation of Ontario. Previous positions held include Marketing & Communications Consultant, Associate Manager of Brand Management at Newell Brands, and Marketing Manager at Kerr's Candy, among others.

She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology major, Business minor) from McGill University ('13) and the University of Ottawa ('13), as well as a post-graduate certificate in Digital Marketing Management from the University of Toronto. She is currently studying towards a post-graduate certificate in Communications and Public Relations through Western University.

Godron's leadership activities include serving as a Board Director and branding lead for Nellie's Shelter and Youth-Assisting-Youth. She's also the Founder and CEO of Jeboah Miranda Foundation, a national non-profit organization focused on strengthening the mental health of BIPOC women ages 16-24.

"I am beyond excited to be joining UFV, especially during the university's 50th year," she says.

"I'm also very happy to be back in BC, and I'm excited to be joining a university that shares my personal values of inclusivity, community, and excellence."

UFV's Communications team collaborates with four other teams within the Vice-President, Community Engagement office: Marketing and Brand Experience; Community Programming and Experience; Alumni Engagement; and Relationship and Fund Development. The Communications team also works with other key portfolios and offices across the university to support and advance institutional priorities.

"We're very fortunate to have a person of Jeboah's caliber, integrity, and experience join our team during this pivotal time in UFV's history," says VP, Community Engagement Susan Mide Kiss.

"Together, we'll continue to foster authentic relationships here in the Fraser Valley - and beyond - as we commit to engaging learners, transforming lives, and building community."

Godron began her new role at UFV on May 6 after moving to Abbotsford with her dog, Dolce.
