University Canada West (UCW) has ranked first among private institutions in Canada in terms of the most Scopus-indexed publications for 2024. Scopus is one of the world's most reputable scientific indexing databases.
For 2024, UCW had a total of 109 publications. The results were shared by the Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC).
Dr. Hamed Taherdoost, Associate Professor at UCW, conducted the study using Scopus, a major scientific indexing database. The analysis covers fields of study, university contributions, authors, citations and publishers.
"This is really a remarkable achievement," Dr. Bashir Makoul, President and Vice-Chancellor of UCW said in a statement.
"This achievement is a clear indication that our strategic focus on building a research-informed academic culture is delivering tangible results."
Canada's private institutions covered a variety of topics in their publications with Social Sciences leading at 168 articles. Computer Science and Arts & Humanities closely followed at 118 and 112, respectively.
