École Oak Park High School turned back the clock from April 27 to May 2 to celebrate the school's 50th anniversary.
They did that in several ways, including a memorabilia exhibit on display at the school throughout the week. The display took viewers on a trip down memory lane through old photos and yearbooks, school merchandise and sports jerseys, and more.
Alumni had plenty of ways to get involved as well, including through alumni soccer, flag football, basketball, and hockey games, as well as an alumni band performance.
The week culminated with the 50th anniversary dinner celebration on Saturday, where people from across the Oak Park community gathered to celebrate the past five decades. The event also introduced the Oak Park Alumni Hall of Fame that celebrates former students and staff who have gone above and beyond in their communities and contributions to the school. Twenty-one individuals were inducted into the hall of fame across athletics, arts, academics, and achievements categories.
