The J Herbert Smith Centre at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) is pleased to announce the appointment of award-winning musician and cultural advocate David Myles as its new cultural fellow. In this role, Myles will bring his extensive experience in the arts and his passion for fostering cultural growth to the Centre, examining the connection between creativity, innovation, technology and the arts.
David Myles, a celebrated Canadian singer-songwriter, boasts an impressive career with two Juno Awards and numerous other accolades. His relentless work ethic and musical sense of adventure have resulted in 16 albums, spanning classic folk traditions to sweltering R&B, in both English and French. In addition to his musical achievements, Myles hosts the popular podcast "Myles From Home," where he engages in insightful conversations with diverse personalities such as Shad, Jonathan Torrens, and Alan Syliboy, exploring the inspirations that drive artists.

As cultural fellow, Myles will engage with students through multiple sessions focused on various aspects of creative and entrepreneurial development. These sessions will cover the Canadian cultural ecosystem, the intersection of art and technology, creativity as part of the entrepreneurial process, the role of artists as entrepreneurs, and strategies for social media marketing.
