Humber Hawk Malik Grant's professional career is on the rise after he was selected in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) 2025 Draft in April.

Grant, a 6-foot-6 power forward with the Humber Hawks men's basketball team, was selected in the third round with the 24th pick by the Ottawa BlackJacks. The Brampton native was the first collegiate player chosen by the BlackJacks in CEBL Draft history after coming off a season where he was named OCAA Player of the Year and also earned CCAA All-Canadian Honours.
He was also named the CCAA Championship MVP after averaging 16 points and 4.6 rebounds per game on the way to the Hawks winning the national title.
"Our 2025 draft class is a very talented and versatile group of players who have all proven their ability to compete and contribute at a high level in U SPORTS and the CCAA," said BlackJacks general manager James Derouin in a press release.
There were 30 student-athletes selected over three rounds from 25 Canadian post-secondary institutions during the draft. Every Canadian post-secondary student-athlete playing in Canada was eligible to be drafted into the league.
The BlackJacks are next in action when they take on the Winnipeg SeaBears on May 31.
