ST. CLAIR COLLEGE
Alumni Family Fun Day brings joy to hundreds while raising money for food bank

September 19, 2025

Sweets, treats and a carnival atmosphere attracted hundreds of local families to St. Clair College over the weekend for the Alumni Association's Family Fun Day.

More than 500 children and parents joined together to enjoy a free day of amusement park rides, carnival games, inflatables, face-painting and interact with vendors at Main Windsor Campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, sponsored by the Student Representative Council.

The Booster Juice at St. Clair College, Domino's Pizza and fresh-cooked beaver tails from the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts were also a big attraction for families - some who came for an hour - and some who stayed almost all day.

"Family Fun day kicked off our year long season of Alumni Days events that bring alumni, family and friends together to celebrate Saints Nation. The St. Clair College Alumni Association has more than 150,000 members who we look to engage with regular activities which are family friendly," said Joe D'Angela, the Senior Director of Campus Partnerships, St. Clair College Centre for the Arts and Advancement. "The kids obviously had a blast, and their parents had a chance to share their alumni experience with their young ones and friends. It was truly a remarkable day."

The event was free for all alumni, with a good will offering to be directed to the Student Representative Council Food Bank. Overall, $500 was raised to help support the SRC's efforts to assist students in need.

"Our alumni family is not only growing stronger in numbers, but our graduates are also showing strength in how they rise up and support important causes," said D'Angela. "We're proud of the contributions of our alumni who not only do great things in the community, but also for the community."

The Alumni Association has a slate of activities planned over the coming year, including an Alumni Day for Saints Baseball on Oct. 4, a few bowling events in both Windsor and Chatham, and an NHL hockey game in Detroit on Nov. 20.

In order to attend these events, some of which are free, download the Alumni Perks App and enter the event. Visit alumni's website for a complete listing of events and follow alumni on social media for special contests and promotions.
