The Loran Award, the only award of its kind in Canada, is much more than financial support for post-secondary studies: We give exceptional young people a launchpad to unlock their potential and empower them to make positive change in their communities.
Loran Scholars are selected on the basis of character, commitment to service, and the potential for leadership. Each Loran Scholar embarks on a four-year, comprehensive leadership enrichment program designed to nurture their character, expand their perspectives, and equip them to make meaningful contributions to their communities. Loran combines a tuition waiver from one of our 25 university partners with a living stipend, diverse experiential learning opportunities, including summer placements across public policy, community, and enterprise sectors, personalized mentorship, leadership coaching, and a lifelong network of peers and volunteers. At every step, scholars are supported in developing resilience, empathy, and the capacity to lead with integrity.
All eligible students will be welcome to apply by filling out the application, uploading a transcript, and naming a referee. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that both the candidate and the referee have sufficient time to complete their online form by noon ET on October 16. If a student's application or reference form is not completed by then, that application will not be considered.
