On May 1, a team from Concordia, led by Provost and Vice-President, Academic, Effrosyni (Faye) Diamantoudi, visited The Sacred Heart School of Montreal to sign a partnership framework aimed at facilitating the admission to Concordia of the school's grade 12 students.

The Sacred Heart School is a renowned private all-girls high school. As part of the agreement, Concordia will not only accelerate the admissions review process for grade 12 applicants from Sacred Heart but offer them a guaranteed admissions pathway to undergraduate programs that correspond to their high school academic stream. Concordia programs that have distinct admission criteria such as a portfolio or an audition, for example, are excluded from this provision.
While most Quebec high school students obtain their diploma after grade 11, then enrol in a CEGEP program, students who complete a grade 12 program can transition directly to a university undergraduate program.
Concordia will support Sacred Heart students through the application and admissions process, including through individualized guidance in the selection of a program of study and the completion of their application.
"We are delighted to partner with The Sacred Heart School and help advance their long-standing dedication to the education and advancement of young women," says Diamantoudi. "We look forward to helping Sacred Heart graduates make informed, confident academic choices and creating opportunities for early engagement with the Concordia community."
The partnership includes several outreach activities, including an exploration day on each Concordia campus and a dedicated opportunity for Sacred Heart student athletes enrolled in the basketball program to engage with Concordia's Athletics department. Concordia will also hold a series of four academic enrichment presentations led by faculty members or subject-matter experts, designed to spark curiosity and help students engage with a range of disciplines and real-world topics.
"This partnership brings together the best of Montreal's educational landscape: the heritage and heart of Sacred Heart, and the innovation and forward momentum of Concordia," says Patricia Briand, Head of School at The Sacred Heart School of Montreal. "It is a natural pairing, one that honours our history while opening new doors for the next generation of young women leaders".
