College Recognizes Staff Excellence and Dedication at 2024 Staff In-Service

Northlands College, Saskatchewan's Northern College concluded its 2024 Staff In-Service at the Creighton Campus on May 2nd and 3rd. The event served as a platform to enhance staff skills, celebrate achievements, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the institution.

The In-Service featured a diverse array of training sessions aimed at empowering staff with cutting-edge tools and knowledge. Among the highlights were sessions focusing on AI tool applications, Indigenous Teachings, and training in Applied Research, underscoring Northlands College's commitment to staying at the forefront of educational trends and methodologies.

One of the most significant aspects of the event was the recognition of staff members for their years of dedicated service. The Long Service Recognition Awards honored individuals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to Northlands College over the years. Notable among the recipients were Lena Bell, Janelle Pederson, Emily Hennie, Kory Morvik, Aaron Stockdale, Lisa Courtoreille, Indermohan Rawal, Jocelyn Vandall, Jennifer Kyplain, Eric Hamm, Manjula Rawal, Tamara Putz, Stephen King, Pamela Sanderson, and Larrisa Muirhead, whose collective years of service reflect a deep-rooted dedication to the institution's mission and values.

Additionally, three prestigious President's Excellence Awards were presented to individuals who have exemplified outstanding performance in their respective fields. Anirban Ghosh and Pam Sanderson were honored for their Innovation Excellence, Trina Quinn for her Service Excellence, and Stephen King for his Teaching Excellence.

Karsten Henriksen, President & CEO of Northlands College, expressed his pride in the award recipients, stating, "We are immensely proud of our dedicated staff whose unwavering commitment to education and excellence embodies the core values of Northlands College. Their contributions play a pivotal role in our ability to serve the communities of Northern Saskatchewan and uphold the principles of treaties 5, 6, 8, and 10, as well as the homeland of the Métis. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the award recipients and express our gratitude to the town of Creighton for their warm hospitality in hosting our staff."

This year's In-Service marked a significant milestone as it returned to the Creighton Campus for the first time in over a decade, reaffirming Northlands College's dedication to serving the diverse needs of its service region. With the dedication and innovation demonstrated by its employees, Northlands College remains committed to providing unprecedented educational opportunities and meeting the requirements of Industry 4.0 for the benefit of Northern Saskatchewan.
