May 1, 2026

Saskatchewan Polytechnic has received $2 million from the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Students' Association (SPSA) toward the new Joseph A. Remai Saskatoon Campus, marking one of the largest student-led infrastructure contributions in the institution's history.

The infrastructure contribution supports the Time to Rise campaign and will help fund the design and construction of student-centred spaces that will help create a thriving campus community. It also contributes to the design and build of SPSA spaces within the new campus, reinforcing the association's role in student engagement and leadership development. These spaces encourage student involvement, support student-led initiatives, and cultivate the confidence necessary to become leaders in industry and community.

"This exceptional contribution goes far beyond bricks and mortar," says Dr. Larry Rosia, Sask Polytech president and CEO. "It helps create a campus environment where students connect, collaborate and develop leadership skills that carry forward into their careers and communities. This funding reflects SPSA's unwavering commitment to enhancing the educational experience and quality of campus life for its members in Saskatoon. Thank you to the SPSA for investing in Sask Polytech students."

The SPSA has also previously committed $100,000 in 2025 to establish an Academic and Community Leadership Scholarship. The scholarship will provide 22 awards annually to students across all campuses, supporting academic achievement, leadership development and community involvement.

"As the voice of students at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the SPSA is proud to invest in a campus that reflects the ambitions and potential of our peers," says Rosby James SPSA president. "This contribution supports the creation of inclusive, student-centered spaces where students can connect, grow, and lead. It represents an investment not only in today's students, but in the future leaders who will help strengthen our communities and industries across Saskatchewan."

This financial support from the SPSA advances initiatives that foster a sense of belonging and create safe, welcoming campus environments. Funds for this transformational $2-million infrastructure contribution come from the SPSA Saskatoon Infrastructure Fund.

The Time to Rise campaign in support of the new campus aims to empower Sask Polytech graduates and strengthen the provincial economy. The Remai Saskatoon Campus will consolidate an existing network of decentralized, outdated buildings into a modern, technology-rich learning environment, increasing program capacity for more students.
