Congratulations to student Chloé Simard who has been named one of the nine finalists from across Canada in the national Poetry in Voice competition for the second year in a row.
Last year, Simard won $2,000 and came in second place in the French category at the national finals held in Calgrary.
This year, Simard will travel to Ottawa at the end of April to compete in the finals of the bilingual category.
Over 20,000 students nationwide participated in 2024, reciting poems by heart from the Poetry In Voice/Les voix de la poésie online anthology.
Simard was selected alongside Champlain student Taras Baranovskyy as one of the 24 senior semifinalists from across Canada.
The Canada-wide competition saw 24 standout students advance to the semifinals, judged by an esteemed panel of poets, with each semi-finalist awarded $250.
Congrats also to Ana Sofia Torres Hernandez who was selected as the third local winner for Champlain in the English category.
