Formerly Delinquency Intervention Techniques, the Criminology Intervention Techniques program will be offered in the fall of 2023 at the Carleton-sur-Mer campus. This change will incorporate more practice and simulations in an authentic situation.

Since 2021, the teaching team has been developing its expertise around the work-based learning project. This innovative and unique pedagogical practice in Quebec will make it possible to adapt approximately 50% of class hours to work-based learning project. Work-based learning allows the establishment of a hybrid, flexible and professionalizing mode of teaching. In other words, it strengthens the links between theory and practice. Through its multidisciplinary nature, this new program brings together complementary fields of study such as psychology, sociology, criminology and the legal field.
At the end of their college course, students will work with people of all ages who show delinquent behavior, present delinquency-related risk factors or who are victims of neglect or mistreatment. They will also be able to accompany victims of criminal acts, their loved ones and witnesses. Building on a plurality of approaches, the training will provide all the necessary tools to promote prevention, intervention, as well as assistance to victims.
