After extensive community engagement and thoughtful consideration, we are thrilled to announce the official name of the new school in New Carlisle. Following a robust survey process and careful review by the naming committee, which included representatives from both NCHS and SPDS, we are proud to introduce the Baie-des-Chaleurs Regional School.
The naming committee, composed of the principal, chairpersons from NCHS and SPDS, staff members, parents, and a student representative, meticulously reviewed seventy-seven name suggestions received from community members. From these submissions, four names were selected and submitted to the Minister of Toponomy for final approval.
"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in this naming process by submitting suggestions and sharing their insights," said Denise Simoneau, Director General. "The overwhelming response underscores the deep significance of this new school to our communities."
The chosen name, Baie-des-Chaleurs Regional School, reflects our commitment to honouring the geographical heritage of our region.
