ASSOCIATION OF FACULTIES OF MEDICINE OF CANADA
AFMC launches 2017 Graduation Questionnaire National Report

September 11, 2017

The Association of Faculties of Medicine (AFMC) is pleased to share the 2017 edition of the AFMC Graduation Questionnaire (AFMC GQ) National Report. The AFMC GQ is a unique annual survey designed to elicit feedback about the educational experiences of students graduating from the 17 Canadian Faculties of Medicine Medical Doctor (MD) programs.

A total of 1,919 graduates responded to the survey, resulting in a response rate of 67.5%. "The survey was made significantly shorter this year in order to better respond to the needs of students and faculties," explains Dr. Geneviève Moineau, AFMC's President and CEO.

"Our new, more focused survey is giving us information we can use to improve MD programs and to inform health human resource policies nationwide", says Jon Kimball, Director of Data and Information Services at AFMC

A new section called "Selected Findings" has been added to the Report, giving more context to the data by providing some analysis on topics like the increasing student debt, student involvement in research projects, and longitudinal integrated clerkship.

The 2017 AFMC GQ National Report is freely downloadable on the AFMC website at https://afmc.ca/data-and-analysis/afmc-graduation-questionnaire
