TEACHER COLLECTIVE BARGAINING CONFERENCE
Invitation to submit a workshop proposal

The 2023 CTF/FCE Teacher Collective Bargaining Conference (TCBC), co-hosted by the Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers, will be held at the InterContinental Montreal (360 Saint-Antoine Street West), June 4-6. Please save the date in your calendar.

The CTF/FCE invites you to contribute to the program by submitting a workshop proposal related to the key topics (see below).

Overview

The CTF/FCE Teacher Collective Bargaining Conference (TCBC) is designed for bargaining staff and lead negotiators, human resource professionals, strategic communicators, researchers, and subject matter experts from CTF/FCE Member, Associate, and Partner Organizations.

Aiming to build bargaining power in the face of an ever-challenging environment, the theme "Key Bargaining Issues of Our Time" sets the stage to deepen and broaden perspectives by exploring the following key topics:    

  • ·Preparing for arbitration 
  • ·Countering legislative interference 
  • ·Diversity and equity at the table
  • ·Teacher shortage 
  • ·Workload and mental health 
  • ·Strategic communication in support of bargaining
  • ·Learning methods and teacher working conditions 
  • The TCBC features keynote speakers, panels, workshops, and more. 

Format and Timing

  • Workshops must relate to the Conference key topics and be tailored to the primary audience.
  • Workshops are 75 minutes in length.
  • Facilitation should actively engage participants throughout the session, and allow time for Q&A throughout and/or at the end of the session.

Process and deadline to submit a proposal

  • Please fill out the attached form by March 3, 2023.
  • Presenters whose submissions have been selected will be informed by March 9, 2023
  • Workshop submission forms must be signed by the Executive Director or designate of your organization to be considered.
  • Workshop presenters from CTF/FCE Member or Associate Organizations receive free registration to the event.
  • Travel, accommodation, and meal expenses other than meals offered at the Conference are the responsibility of the workshop presenter's organization. Please advise the CTF/FCE if your organization requires assistance for covering expenses related to your participation as a presenter.
  • The CTF/FCE reimburses for release time if applicable.
