On Friday, April 21, Cégep Heritage College was proud to host its first annual Earth Day Fair. This event was mainly organized by Maria Fraser Semenoff, a first year Natural Science student, with the mentorship of her teacher Alex Bunge.
The Earth Day Fair was free for all staff and students, and included games, crafts and hot drinks as well as the participation of the Ottawa River Keeper, the Canadian Wildlife Federation, Fair Trade, Students On Ice, Transcollines and Environment Canada. These organizations had booths to provide students with information to increase their awareness about the environment.
This event was a huge success! A large number of students and staff came out participate in the activities and learn more from our guests with expertise. We are planning to have this event again next year!
