The Cégep Heritage College Women's Soccer team has won the RSEQ Regional Championship!!! Heading into the playoffs with an 8-2-3 record, expectations were high for the team. The semifinal pitted Heritage against rival Cégep de l'Assomption. As the 1st half was about to draw to a close, 3rd year captain Mollie Gilchrist opened the score with an incredible strike from distance. The second half saw l'Assomption stymied repeatedly by Skye Robinson before Maggie Gilchrist scored consecutive goals. Final score: Heritage 3, l'Assomption 0.
The final game had Heritage matched up against an enthusiastic Cégep de l'Abitibi. Third year veteran Melody Leggett gave Heritage a lead in the first half, and the team defense was virtually impenetrable leaving Abitibi frustrated in all areas of the pitch. Leggett scored on a brilliant strike midway through the second half and Robinson picked up her second consecutive clean sheet in the 2-0 victory.
