BOW VALLEY COLLEGE
Bow Valley College celebrates the grand opening of its newly expanded regional campus in Okotoks

September 29, 2022

Bow Valley College continues its commitment to offering quality post-secondary education to regional students in Alberta through its newly expanded campus in Okotoks. A grand opening celebration officially launched the 6,000-square-foot campus in the Okotoks Arts and Learning Campus (OALC).

"We could not be more pleased to build upon our more than two decades in Okotoks by expanding and enhancing our campus. This new space allows us to offer even more students the flexibility of learning where they live." - Leah Wack, Dean of Regional Stewardship, Bow Valley College

The campus replaces Bow Valley College's 1,500-square-foot location in the town, servicing students from Okotoks and the Foothills. Programs available at the Okotoks campus currently include Practical Nurse, Health Care Aide, Recreation Therapy Aide, Early Childhood Education and Development, Administrative Professional, and Business Administration. This new campus allows the College to meet demands, open doors to more students, and support future growth.

"I'd like to congratulate everyone at Bow Valley College on the expansion of their campus in Okotoks. Bow Valley College is an important member of our post-secondary community and plays a significant role in education and training across southern Alberta. By operating regional campuses, Bow Valley College gives students more flexibility to gain a higher-education in ways and places that work best for them, while creating jobs and opportunities in communities across the province." - Demetrios Nicolaides, Minister of Advanced Education

The Ministry of Advanced Education's Alberta 2030: Building Skills for Jobs strategic plan outlines the critical nature of regional growth, making it a goal for post-secondary institutions.

"As an access College, the expansion of our Okotoks campus achieves a priority set out by the Government of Alberta, which is an enormous benefit to students who live outside our major centres. By offering a blend of in-person and online learning, our regional campuses also address a growing demand for flexible delivery." - Michael Crowe, Bow Valley College Vice President, Academic

Expansion of the Okotoks campus demonstrates Bow Valley College's commitment to the economic prosperity and diversification of communities south of Calgary and to fostering long-term partnerships.

"It is wonderful to see Bow Valley College's expanded space as a part of the Okotoks Arts and Learning Campus. I am grateful for their continual investment in our community. Bow Valley College offers post-secondary education opportunities for Okotoks residents and those from the Foothills region. The Town looks forward to having Bow Valley College here, as part of our community, for a very long time." - Town of Okotoks Mayor Tanya Thorn
