NEW AGREEMENT OPENS DOORS TO U OF R'S BACHELOR OF DESIGN PROGRAM
University of Regina and Saskatchewan Polytechnic Partner to Enhance New Pathways for Creative Technologies and Design Students

Students in creative technologies and design can now benefit from a streamlined pathway to the University of Regina's Bachelor of Design degree, thanks to the new transfer credit agreement between the University and Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask Polytech).

Under the agreement, graduates of Sask Polytech's Graphic Communications Diploma, Interactive Design and Technology Diploma or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology Diploma can transfer up to 60 credit hours (equivalent to two years) toward their four-year Bachelor of Design degree at the U of R.

"This partnership is an exciting development for students passionate about art, design, and technology," says Dr. David Dick, Dean of the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance at the U of R. "By building on the solid foundation provided by Sask Polytech's diploma programs, we're helping students expand their career prospects and thrive in growing creative industries."

"The Faculty of Digital Innovation, Arts and Sciences now have a fantastic opportunity to earn a design degree with two additional years of education," says Kelly Maddin, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Digital Innovation, Arts and Sciences at Sask Polytech. "Our collaboration with the U of R through such agreements strengthens our academic partnership. By encouraging students to further their education, we can help meet the growing demand for employees in Saskatchewan's creative sector."

Graduates who have completed their diplomas on or after June 1, 2023, with a minimum grade point average of 60 per cent and ENGL 100 or its equivalent are eligible to apply. Students who graduated before this date may also be eligible to apply.
