SIIT's First Female Journeyperson Welder

CONGRATULATIONS TO SHANNON BURNS - SIIT JOINT TRAINING COMMITTEE

SIIT is very pleased to share that Shannon Burns has successfully completed her training and is SIIT's Joint Training Committee's first female journeyperson welder. Shannon completed SIIT's Welding Applied Certificate in July of 2010 and was indentured to SIIT Joint Training Committee Nov. 28, 2011. Shannon went on to complete three more years of on the job experience and technical training at SK Polytechnic. Shannon wrote and passed both the practical and written inter-provincial red seal exam in January 2015. Shannon also passed her B Pressure welder exam on June 10th,2015   

Shannon resided on Muskoday First Nations and completed her training at SK Polytechnic (Saskatoon Campus).  Shannon is back at work in Ft. McMurray where she operates her own welding truck. SIIT is proud of Shannon's accomplishments and wishes her all the best in her future business.
