The University Council has appointed Jeanne Mance Cormier as General Director of the Library.
Jeanne Mance Cormier has been Acting General Director of the Library since January 2023, and was previously Director of the Centre d'études acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson and the Musée acadien de l'Université de Moncton.
Jeanne Mance Cormier holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history and a minor in political science from the Université de Moncton and completed her graduate studies in museology from Université Laval. She has spent most of her career as curator of the Musée acadien de l'Université de Moncton and has contributed to over than 20 permanent and temporary exhibitions. She was also a lecturer in the History and Geography Department at the Université de Moncton.
She has extensive experience in partnership development, project management, marketing and communications, and human resources management.
Committed to her community, Jeanne Mance Cormier is heavily involved with provincial and municipal organizations. For example, she is co-chair of the City of Moncton's Cultural Council.
Ms. Cormier will take office on October 1, 2024, for a regular five-year term.
