The University of Fredericton (UFred) would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new Associate Dean of Academics, Michael Hobeck.
Michael is a graduate of UFred's MBA program, where he specialized in Innovation Leadership.
He will serve as the principal academic and administrative officer, incorporating areas of academic affairs, curriculum integrity, faculty and student support, as well as administrative support.
Michael cares very much about education, in all its formats and venues, the care and welfare of animals, and equal rights for all. His primary objective is what interests and motivates him the most - that is assisting others in finding success, as they define it.
Michael's background includes more than 12 years of experience in post-secondary education; senior management positions at large national retailers; serving as a board member for a not-for-profit organization; and as the owner of a small business.
He says he's thrilled to fill this new and challenging role.
"Joining the UFred team and providing adult learners with applied and relevant education in a fully-online environment will allow me to apply what I personally have learned in both industry and post-secondary education. I couldn't be more excited."
