MSVU student wins Francophone prize

April 4, 2024

MSVU Modern Languages student Olivia Bazot was recently named a 2024 recipient of the Prix du Consulat général de France dans les Provinces atlantiques. The award was presented on March 20, the International Day of La Francophonie.

As one of just two recipients of the prize, Olivia will experience an all-inclusive one-week linguistic and cultural stay with Francoforum in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, with the support of the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Canada. Olivia is the third MSVU student to receive this award in the past 10 years.

The recipients of the Prix du Consulat général de France dans les Provinces atlantiques are selected from a list of 10 student recipients of the Prix des Alliances Françaises in Moncton and Halifax. Both awards recognize academic excellence and celebrate interest in French language and culture.

All recipients of the Prix des Alliances Françaises received a certificate of recognition from the Alliances Françaises in Moncton and Halifax, and free registration for the DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) or the DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française).

Congratulations on this great achievement, Olivia!
