The bursaries will benefit those enrolled in the School of Business & Hospitality, School of Advanced Technology and School of Media & Design across all Algonquin College campuses.

CIBC's commitment to this initiative underscores their dedication to causes that matter to their clients, employees and communities. By supporting these student bursaries, CIBC is helping to ensure that students from diverse backgrounds have the financial support they need to pursue their educational goals.

"CIBC aims to create a world without limits to ambition," said Derek Curran, Market Vice President, Ontario East. "We're committed to removing barriers that all too often stand in the way of success for many students from underserved communities. These bursaries will not only improve access to education but will empower the next generation of leaders and changemakers to make a lasting impact on the world."

Mark Savenkoff, Vice President of Advancement & Strategy at Algonquin College, expressed his gratitude for CIBC's generous support: "We are deeply appreciative of CIBC's commitment to our students and their educational journeys. This donation will have a profound impact on the lives of many students, helping to remove financial barriers and allowing them to focus on their studies."

This $100,000 donation will be utilized to provide bursaries that cover various expenses, ensuring that students can fully engage in their academic programs without the added stress of financial strain. The donation reflects a shared vision between Algonquin College and CIBC to support the next generation of leaders, innovators and professionals.
