Building on a Memorandum of Understanding signed last year, Brock University continues to help Bethesda Community Services break barriers for those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Leadership staff from the non-profit organization recently completed a second year of training with Brock University Professional and Continuing Studies (Brock PCS).
"Working with Brock University to deliver leadership training through Professional and Continuing Studies has been invaluable for Bethesda. Our leadership team continues to grow and refine their skills while thoughtfully addressing real-world, relevant issues." says Bethesda CEO Paul McGowan. "This ongoing collaboration strengthens our organization and ultimately enhances the support we provide to the people and communities we serve."
Brock PCS welcomed 49 Bethesda staff to campus for four immersive professional development sessions during the 2025-26 training year. Content for the sessions was tailored to Bethesda's needs and directly addressed organizational concerns.
"We are extremely happy to work with organizations like Bethesda to offer custom training to their leadership team," says Brock PCS Executive Director Nathan Cheney. "As we support and facilitate a partner that is dedicated to the development of their teams, we can see the growth and adapt their training as their organization evolves."
Brock University currently has 15 active MOU partnerships with community organizations across Southern Ontario supporting them through research, experiential education, skills-development, capacity building and more.
