The 2023 Algoma University Classic Golf Tournament brought together Alumni and supporters from the Sault region to support current and future students as they pursue higher education in our community. Led by S&T Group as the tournament's title sponsor, the event raised $30,000 towards the Student Relief Fund (SRF).

The Student Relief Fund directly assists Algoma University students in need of emergency financial support. These funds are applied for by students who have been struck by hardship and without assistance, their only option may be to drop out of studies. This fund helps reduce the number of students forced to stop their studies by helping them pay rent, buy food and so much more.

The sold-out golf tournament brought together golfers to enjoy a day competing at Crimson Ridge in support of a very worthy cause. The tournament saw an all-time high in sponsorships as local businesses and organizations showed they are prioritizing higher education here at Algoma University. This includes Main Tournament Sponsor S & T Group, Dinner Sponsor Scotiabank, Golf Cart Sponsor Henderson Heating and Cooling and Lunch Sponsor Algoma Steel. "We at S&T Group, believe in growing Northern Ontario while prioritizing cross-cultural learning between Indigenous and other communities. Algoma University's values and integrity align with our own and we are proud to be part of the university's and all their students' future success," shared Andrew Sarlo, Chief Construction Officer, S&T Group.
